Mrs. Angela Johnson

6th Grade Counselor

My name is Angela Johnson and I am the 6th grade counselor at Alabama Connections Academy. I have been a school counselor for 12 years and this is my 3rd year with ALCA. I live in Hattiesburg, MS, with my husband Robert and we have 4 wonderful children!

I am excited about the opportunity to get to know you and assist you in your social and emotional growth. It is my goal to help ALCA students and families feel connected, supported, and equipped with any tools you need in order to be successful.

Ms. Alexis Bridges

7th Grade Counselor, Alpha A-K

I earned both my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Master’s degree in Guidance & Counseling from Alabama A&M University. My education experience began as an elementary teacher for Huntsville City Schools then becoming an elementary and middle school counselor for Huntsville and Decatur City Schools.

This is my 8th year as a school counselor and 3rd year as a school counselor with Alabama Connections Academy.

Outside of school, I own an afterschool K-12 tutoring company in Georgia which keeps me fairly busy. In my spare time, I enjoy writing, gardening, volunteering for my church, and traveling to spend time with my family.

I strongly believe my role as school counselor should not only address the academic and social needs of all students, but it involves serving as their advocate and valuable resource towards educational advancement.  I am looking forward to connecting with all 7th grade students and parents this school year.

Mrs. Kimberli Smith

I am an alumni of Palm Beach Atlantic University and The University of Southern Mississippi. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing with a minor in Music. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling.

I am going into my 6th year as a school counselor and my 3rd year with ALCA. Before becoming a school counselor, I was a teacher for 15 years.  I currently live in South Mississippi with my husband and our 7 year old daughter.  I enjoy musical theater, performing arts, teaching my daughter how to sing and harmonize, crafting, and spending time with family.

I am very excited to assist the students and parents of ALCA. This is going to be an amazing year and I’m so glad I joined the team!
